Bio
After graduating from Middle Tennessee State University, I spent one year in the clinical pharmacology department at Vanderbilt University conducting research on omega three fatty acids. I then moved to Missouri and completed my masters in education while my husband, Shon, attended medical school. I taught 7th and 8th grade math and science at a 7th through 12th grade school in La Plata, Missouri for one year. My husband was a physician in the military for nine years and we had the opportunity to live in several states and experience the German and Korean cultures. I have been married for 34 years and my husband and I have two children. My daughter Lauren is an accountant and my son is an internal medicine resident at UT Knoxville Medical Center. I was a stay at home mom/substitute teacher for several years. I returned to teaching in 2007 and taught at CCMS for 14 years. In my spare time, I enjoy cooking, traveling and crafting.
